The UAE’s Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has initiated a major step in the journey towards mandatory electronic invoicing, effectively opening the gates for businesses to begin their digital transition. This move firmly establishes the operational framework for the new system, which is set to revolutionize Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Government (B2G) transactions.

The New Onboarding Gateway

The FTA is now granting each applicable company access to its dedicated Tax Identification Number (TIN) on the e-Invoicing platform. This TIN is more than just an identifier; it is the official digital address that anchors your company within the national Peppol network.

  • TIN as the Anchor: The dedicated TIN will be the central reference point used when selecting an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) and for ensuring all exchanged invoices comply with the strict UAE Peppol standards.

  • Flexibility and Security: The new system is designed to streamline compliance, making it easier for companies to onboard, re-verify details, and even securely switch providers if necessary. The FTA strongly recommends that businesses regularly review their information to maintain data accuracy and avoid future compliance issues.

This is a clear signal that the time for system testing and vendor selection is now, well ahead of the mandatory deadlines that will start in 2027.
